“You know, I may be lecherous and a bit of a playboy, but it’s not the only thing I think about. Food is a close second,” he retorted in mock defensiveness, giving a sassy scoff and laying a hand on his chest as if he were offended. Johnny thought about the suggestion, dropping his hand to his side. “I guess it just depends on where we’re flying. You can fly, right?” he asked, not remembering much about her.

“Oh yes. Possibly faster than you. Shall we try it?” Summer balanced a little flame on her fingertip, smiling. “Possibly we can investigate those other things you think about later.” She stepped toward the exit, checking over her shoulder to see if he would follow.

Johnny knew he talked to her for a reason. Without a moment’s hesitation he followed after, pondering her last words. God, that sounded tempting. Good thing Johnny wasn’t a stranger to temptation, let alone someone to fight against it. “Not to brag, but I’m 99.9% sure I’m faster,” he retorted cockily, a challenging grin on his face. “With those odds, my bet’s not on you proving me wrong.”

“You’ve never seen me fly flat out, though,” she pointed out. “I do SAR. There’s little reason for me to go as fast as I can. What’ll you bet, then, Johnny?” They popped out into the cold sunshine, and she tilted her head up to look at the sky.

“I’ll bet that threetwoonego!” he exclaimed bolting up into the sky, flames curling around his wrists and quickly licking up his arms and chest till they consumed his entire body. The fire flickered as it ate up his entire outer layer of clothing and radiated heat, the pure degree of it making the air around him shimmer. “COME ON, SLOWPOKE!” he called down, the transformation only taking near ten seconds.

His anticipation gave him away, and Summer laughed when he took off, only half a second behind him. She waited until they were both well up before she manifested her wings, answering his call. “Who’s a slowpoke?” A few curls of flame swirled around her laughing face. “Now be serious, Johnny. Make a real bet and stop cheating.”

He gave a very genuine smile. “That’s very comforting, thank you.” Johnny considered what she said earlier. “Okay, yeah I’d say I’m a one track mind kind of guy, but really it’s more a craving for fun than anything else. I don’t care what it is, to an extent, as long as it’s fun.” Really, he hadn’t done much in the way of enjoyment anyways. “You don’t by any chance know anything fun to do, do you?”

“I know lots of fun things to do. You looking for something in particular?” Summer’s green eyes warmed. “You’re always looking for something in particular, though, is what I hear.” She winked. “Flying could be fun.”

Johnny’s eyebrows shot up at what she was insinuating. Not saying she was wrong in her assumption, just that Johnny definitely did not see that coming. “My brain can multi-task.”

“Oh really?” she teased. “That’s not what I hear. You’ve always seemed pretty one track to me.” She laughed at the expression on his face. “Don’t change, Johnny. I quite like you as you are, one track mind and all.”

“Johnny’s fine, you know.” He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, grasping for her name in the deep, dark, jumbled recesses of his mind. Didn’t it have something to do with a season? Autumn? Pepper? No, that was seasoning . “You’re Summer, right?” Success. Sweet, sweet success. Mentally he patted himself on the back, actually knowing somebody’s name correctly, even if it was just a guess.

“That’s right,” she replied sweetly. “I didn’t realise you knew who I was, Johnny. Don’t you usually have other things on your mind when we run across each other?”

Johnny didn’t quite understand why there were so many gorgeous women in one room, but honestly he wasn’t going to question it. A smirk on his face, he decided now would be an absolutely splendid time to flirt and he already could see four of the most beautiful women in the room. Ms. Marvel, two fiery redheads, and a brunette, almost feline in her features. Where to begin? He stepped forward, into the view of the closest women to him. “Hey,” he started. “How are you?”

Summer smiled up at the blond man greeting her. “Pretty good. How about you? Mr Storm, isn’t it?” Amusingly, despite their similarities and overlapping acquaintances, the two of them had never met before, not in any official capacity, not even in the course of their hero work. Up close, he was very easy on the eyes, and she could already sense his mildly predatory attitude.
