“Nothing.” She shook her head. “It’s a stupid bet anyway. I only made it so it wouldn’t hurt so much if you were just screwing with me.” Letting go the braid, she sat on his lap again. “Pizza man must be real busy tonight,” she murmured. “What will we do to pass the time?”

“You could just grab my hand and we could start the first of many cleanings this place will need over the next month.” Tony suggested with a laugh. “I might even help you.” He looked into Summer’s eyes. “But I feel like you had something else in mind?”

“You must think I’m a sucker, Tonybaby,” Summer purred. “It’s a stupid bet, but you wouldn’t like me when I’m cleaning. Another day, maybe. No, I think I’ll just sit here and practise kissing you.” Bracing her hands against his chest, she kissed him very lightly, flicking her tongue at his mouth.

“Tonybaby?” Tony laughed. “Does that mean I can call you Summer-sweetness?” A smile found its way to his lips as Summer pressed their lips together. “I guess I could help you practice with that.” He grinned wrapping his arms around her.

“You can call me anything except ‘hey you’.” She smiled and linked her arms around his neck, combing the fingers of one hand into his hair. “You think I’m sweet?”

“Oh how fancy with the kneeling and the full name and everything.” Tony said as a grin over took his face. “Well I guess since I’ve already kissed you I could do you the honor of going out with you.” He widened his eyes to give her a serious look. “This so does not call off the bet by the way.”

“Quiet, you,” she laughed, shoving at his knee. “You wanted a formal invitation.” In one smooth motion, she stood up, leaning over him. “I could end it right now, but you’re enjoying this too much.”

“It was a lovely invitation,” Tony grinned looking up at her. “And I think the only reason you have yet to let me win is ‘cause you don’t wanna clean this place.” He laughed. “Which I guess is a valid reason,” he said looking around. “This place is kind of a mess isn’t it?”

Summer shrugged, glancing around. “It’s a boys’ place. Pretty standard.” She flashed him a grin. “I’m just afraid of what else you might ask for. Although … my reward is pretty moot, now isn’t it.” She wrapped the length of her braid behind his neck. “What are you going to do about that?”

“Does it really even matter?” Tony teased. “We both know there’s no way in hell you’re gunna win.” He pushed his head up to kiss her. “What else would you want from me? A trip to Disney World?”

“Well why the hell not?” Tony smirked against the kiss. “I took you as the kind of forward thinking woman that didn’t need the man to ask her out.” Tony wanted so badly to get a rise out of her. “Guess I was wrong.” He shrugged.

“I,” she began, “am the kind of woman who doesn’t need a formal commitment.” She raised an eyebrow at him. “Are you so unsure, after all those pretty words, you want a declaration? You’ve admitted a crush on me, after all; I’ve done no such thing.”

“I am the kind of man that would love for a woman to take charge.” Tony said forcing down a laugh. “And I like my commitments formal and defined.” He placed his hands behind his head in a very relaxed fashion. “And I am so confident in my pretty words that I expect a formal invitation into boyfriend-hood by the end of this evening.”

Summer’s expression smoothed, and she looked at him seriously, head tipped to one side and searching his eyes. Then she slid off his lap to kneel on the floor. “Tony Stark, will you go out with me?”

Tony’s breaths were shallow and fast as Summer pulled away from the kiss, a million different thoughts fighting for attention in his brain. “Anything for you princess.” Tony laughed rolling his eyes. “You gunna ask me to be your boyfriend or something?”

She breathed a short laugh. “Would you say yes if I did?” Princess. She could get used to that.

“Why me?”

“Why you?” Tony laughed. “I’m starting to think you just want me to shower you with compliments, about how pretty you are.” He planted a kiss on her lips. “Or how funny you are.” Another kiss. “Or how you’re a giant pain in the ass and I love it.” He grinned, looking her in the eyes. “I guess you’d have to formally ask me to see if I’d say yes though,” he said wiggling his eyebrows.

“If this is a game, if you are just playing, I will turn you inside out,” she muttered. She sat up, covering his hands with hers. “Not going to ask,” she said, and leaned her forehead against his. This time, when she kissed him, it was a little hesitant.

“I feel like I’m the bike in this situation.” Tony laughed placing his hands on her hips as she straddled him. “Should I be wearing a helmet?” he teased before raising his head up for another kiss.

“Doubtful,” she mumbled, drawing away from his mouth to put her head on his shoulder. “We’ve now very nearly reached the end of my practical knowledge.” She brushed her nose against his neck, breathing softly on that point just behind his ear, which for her was almost painfully sensitive. “Answer me something, Tony.”

“Are you sure you want to let me win?” Tony smirked. “Could you really handle cleaning this place for a month and calling me Mr Irresistible while you do it?” He grinned as he opened his mouth to playfully bite at her thumb. “It’s up to you.” He grinned holding up his hand to see if she would take it.

“Not ever going to be that easy, Tony.” Summer ignored his hand, pressing her thumb against his tongue for a quick moment before swooping in to kiss him again, tongue tangling with his. A deep hum broke from her throat as she closed her eyes, angling just enough to keep from bashing their noses together.

Tony smiled against the kiss and wrapped his arms around her bringing them closer. He moaned a little as Summer’s tongue pressed against his own. “Glad to see that year of down time didn’t leave you too rusty.” He smirked.

“Like riding a bicycle.” Her breathing was a little rough and her cheeks flushed. “Because you’re inspiring.” Summer twisted herself free of his arms, choosing to straddle his lap instead. That put their faces at a level, and she smiled, a much different smile than she’d ever shown him before: softer, warmer, relaxed.
