“Why do you want to know?” Summer folded her arms, watching Tony. “I’m a lot of things. I don’t go in a box. I have a mutant ability, I do magic, I work with computers, I play games. I might be an alien. Alien to you.”
“Because I’m curious? I don’t know, I’m not the talking type.” He shrugged his shoulders and shook his head a little. ”Yeah, no. I’ve seen worse.”
She lifted her eyebrows. “I think you just lost all the ground you gained with your flattery, there. This would go much easier if I knew what it was you wanted. I just came to look at the Tower.”
“No.” It was quiet, flat, and final. “We share a similar gift, and that is all. I do not know him, I do not fall under his jurisdiction, and I am not that much like him.”
The tone of the woman’s didn’t go unnoticed by Tony, which made him raise his eyebrows in surprise, though the man couldn’t contain the smirk that was forming across his lips. “Looks like I touched a sensitive topic. Didn’t mean to offend you,” he said, half serious. ”But to me, it seemed logical.”
“In any case, what are you exactly? A bad experience that went wrong? A mutant? An alien?”
“Why do you want to know?” Summer folded her arms, watching Tony. “I’m a lot of things. I don’t go in a box. I have a mutant ability, I do magic, I work with computers, I play games. I might be an alien. Alien to you.”
“I cheat.” She laid a fingertip to her temple, eyes dancing. “I know the things no one else knows. The things you can’t admit to yourself.” Summer shook her head again. “Let’s don’t do that, though. I don’t want to rummage in your head.”
“Oh.” Tony furrowed his brows. “I wasn’t expecting that. Are you related to Charles Xavier by any chance? Because that would make so fucking much sense.”
“No.” It was quiet, flat, and final. “We share a similar gift, and that is all. I do not know him, I do not fall under his jurisdiction, and I am not that much like him.”
“Oho! Flattery will get you everywhere.” She shook her head, but couldn’t help smiling. “Let me see, what else /can/ I tell you about yourself. You don’t seem to like yourself very much, Mr Stark. Or am I not supposed to know that?”
“Yeah, what can I say? I’m crazy like that.” He shrugged. There was that half-smirk again, playing around his lips, as if he was deciding whether the situation was amusing to warrant a full smile. ” And what makes you think I don’t like myself?” he asked nonchalantly.
“I cheat.” She laid a fingertip to her temple, eyes dancing. “I know the things no one else knows. The things you can’t admit to yourself.” Summer shook her head again. “Let’s don’t do that, though. I don’t want to rummage in your head.”
She gave him a flat look, eyelashes lowered and eyes narrowed. “Still think I’m charming?”
He gave a look and shrugged. “I still think you are, in addition to being a really…beautiful woman.”
“Oho! Flattery will get you everywhere.” She shook her head, but couldn’t help smiling. “Let me see, what else /can/ I tell you about yourself. You don’t seem to like yourself very much, Mr Stark. Or am I not supposed to know that?”
Summer smiles, and gives the little bow again. “What, like that?”
He smirked. “Perfect.” He took his cup in his hand before taking a sip. “So, Summer, right? Where do you come from?”
“I live here in the city. I was born in the south, if that’s what you mean. You?” It was a joke; his history was so easy to find out. Well, most of it.
“Not what I meant but that’s alright, I love hearing about people,” he lied and waved her question off. “Especially, funny people like you.”
She shook a finger. “You shouldn’t lie, Mr Stark. That’s two lies.”
She gives a little bow, hand over heart. “I’m Summer, Mr Stark.” She colours a little at the compliment, and shakes her head. “How can you know I’m charming when I’ve said only one sentence to you?”
Tony raised a brow. “That was..fun to watch, can you do it again? I feel like I’m a sort of a prince or something,” he said briefly and walked towards his workbench where he had placed his coffee cup. “Well, instinct?”
Summer smiles, and gives the little bow again. “What, like that?”
