And so, the heroes are emblems of everything that we hope we are. They appeal to the best in our humanity. They are noble and courageous and generous and self-sacrificial and honest and good. It’s who we all hope we would be in a crisis. And then the villains are everything we’re afraid of. They are incarnations of our darkest instincts. Fear, jealousy, pride, vanity, arrogance, rage.

If you’re uncertain in your affection and in their affection for you, you can so easily be turned and possessed by the green-eyed monster of jealousy, which eats you up and ultimately destroys the love that was there in the first place.

The thing about human beings is they are constantly inconstant. Now we all have nobility in us; we all have moments of weakness; we all say things we don’t mean, we all do things we wish we hadn’t done. And then there are days when we are amazing and we do — we are the best version of ourselves.
Doing good in this world, and being kind, and being honest and noble is really underrated. And I think you have — I think everyday people have enormous power. And they have enormous power for good and if you’re good to people, the world is a better place.
