“The other guy destroyed a lot,” he says softly.
“You fear him. Your other soul.” Her voice is sympathetic. “Can you not believe I will hear him coming?”
“But, you do have reason,” He says as he reclaims her lips, kissing them softly.
“I’m listening, Bruce.”
“You should,” he whispers against her lips kissing them very lightly.
Threading her fingers into his hair, she smiles against his mouth and replies, “I’ll not fear you, nor your other soul, without a reason why.” This is a proper kiss, polite yet no longer teasing.
“That is true,” he smiles, “and I have broken many things.” he whispers.
“I don’t fear you,” she whispers back, and pulls his arm to encircle her shoulders, leaning up to brush her mouth to his.
He chuckles lightly, “I don’t enjoy having people wasting trips.” he smiles.
“Wouldn’t that be my decision to make as to whether it’s wasted?” she murmured into his hand. “Come, Doctor, I won’t break.”
He puts a hand on her cheek, “Well you traveled all this way, I would feel bad.”
“Oh, goodness,” she laughs. “So gallant.” She put her hand over his, turning her face to kiss his palm.
He chuckles along with her, “Well, I guess it can.”
“Would you like to?” She crawls across the bed within his reach.
He shakes his head, “I feel like I have defeated your purpose in coming here,” he states.
Her chuckle is kind, inviting him to share her amusement. “Maybe not entirely, Bruce. I think it could be recaptured very easily.”
“That I rather focus on a mind than a body, bodies are nice though, don’t get me wrong.” He laughs with a smile on his face. He then pulls out his glasses and puts them back on.
“Was there anything else you wanted to ask me?”
“Not as a project.” he objects, “I could be interested in your body. I am a more intellectual man though.” he chuckles.
“That’s one of the things I find so fascinating about you.” She’s not trying to seduce, now; it’s an honest admission, clear and open.
