She grabbed Deva’s arm, keeping her from walking away. “You don’t get to make that choice, Adeva.” Deliberately she used the full name, not an endearment. “You’re one of mine now. Tell me. Let me help you. Let me be a sister to you.”
She hissed as she got in Summer’s face, ”You are not my mother or my father, I make the choices I damned well please to make, I may care about you, but you need to remember that.” She said, through clenched teeth.
“You don’t get to choose if I protect you, either, Deva. Chiya.” Summer refused to flinch. “Or if I care about you, and how. You’re right, I can’t stop you going out and getting hurt. I can’t save you from yourself.” She sighed. “But I’ll not stop trying to help you any way I can.”
She sighed as she ran a hand through her candy red hair, ”I get to bring my snake or I don’t stay with you,” She muttered smirking before pulling the girl into a hug, ”You must be my sister if you are this stubborn.”
“Blame Loki,” Summer smiled into Deva’s shoulder. “Tell me what you need in your room, hon. And don’t think I’ve forgotten the way you ignored my question about your age, either, girl.”
She lifted her head and smirked, ”Don’t you know you’re not supposed to ask a lady her age, how rude,” She said in feigned sadness. ”And just the basics really, I can get everything else.”
Summer made a raspberry. “Sisters should know. I’ll leave the futon in there. Stop dodging the question, or I’ll tickle you.” She flicked her eyes side to side, then added, “Or sic Loki on you.”
She had a blank expression, ”Tickle me and I will shoot you in the foot, I’m technically 21 jesus.”
Summer kissed Deva on the cheek. “Thank you. You’ve to go out tonight, yes? I know you’re careful. Come get me if you need me.” She put a palm over Deva’s heart. “I’ll be listening for you.”
She grabbed Deva’s arm, keeping her from walking away. “You don’t get to make that choice, Adeva.” Deliberately she used the full name, not an endearment. “You’re one of mine now. Tell me. Let me help you. Let me be a sister to you.”

She smirked,”Don’t ask hunny, it’s long and complicated, anyway, I don’t go anywhere without him, so..”
“I will ask. Forget the snake, right now. Come on, Deva, if we’re going to be sisters we should know things about each other,” Summer’s voice hardened, “and I’ll protect you whether you like it or not.”
Her eyes turned dark, ”I thank you for the thought; however, I don’t need to be protected, I do that just fine minus a few stabs here and there.” She said turning away from Summer, ”Love is supposed to be amazing, make you feel special, sadly my last love was a nut case that like to experiment on things.”
She grabbed Deva’s arm, keeping her from walking away. “You don’t get to make that choice, Adeva.” Deliberately she used the full name, not an endearment. “You’re one of mine now. Tell me. Let me help you. Let me be a sister to you.”

She blinked, ”I’m older than you,” She muttered before shaking her head, ”I do appreciate it, though I don’t think a boa and cats will get along real fine and I don’t know if you want all the guns and what not around.”
Summer shrugged. “Guns aren’t a problem. The snake, maybe, I don’t know.” She raised an eyebrow at Deva. “How do you know you’re older than I?”
She rolled her eyes, ”Its not that easy to always stay safe, nine times out of ten I am sleeping on the roof of my apartment. I have watched it be raided a few times already.”
“Oy, don’t roll your eyes at me young lady.” Summer tweaked Deva’s nose and got up. “Look, how about this: you come, once a week, and stay at my place. Between me, the cats, and my wards, it’s very safe, and I can defend you if things go sideways. That way, I can have some company, and you can get some actual sleep.”
