Stepping right into his personal space, Summer trailed her fingertips down his face. “See? You can be obedient. But that still leaves the previous infraction.” She stepped back again, running the rope through her hands, not looking at Victor. “How many lashes, do you think, will be enough for that? Take your shirt off while you think.”

Victor’s jaw clenched and he worked a muscle when she talked about his obedience but he stayed still. He quickly unbuttoned his shirt then cast it aside, the muscles in his back tense in anticipation. “10…I suppose,” Victor said, his now grey eyes dark in defiance. It was that look that always had gotten him in trouble as a kid.

“Only ten,” Summer mused. “It’s true, it was the first time. Link your hands behind your neck.” She smiled, a kind of smile she’d never shown Victor before. Anticipatory. Hungry. Cutting. Laying a finger over his mouth, she leaned down, holding his gaze. “You have a strong will, little assassin. I like that. Don’t cry out, and you may earn a reward. Every sound earns you another strike.” She stepped behind him, sliding the rope through her hands again.

Victor’s eyes widened a little at her smile, the command grating at his nature to lead and not follow. He clenched his fists then slowly linked his hands behind his neck, the muscles in his back still tense the same as her smile. He waited for the first strike, surprised that his Summer had this side to her and finding it very appeasing.

It was like being on the back of a tiger, knowing that if she faltered just so, it could turn and destroy her. Thrilling and terrifying. Summer wrapped a length of rope around her hand, then lashed it back and forth in the air, getting the feel of it.

“Brave little assassin,” she murmured, “coaxing me to betray my employer.” A flick of her wrist laid the rope across his back. “Is that the game, Victor?” Another lash, and another, in quick succession, as she learned how to snap the rope for maximum contact and sound. “Make me fall in love with you, bed me and win my trust, then find my secrets?”

She closed her hand just a little, just enough to make him feel the pressure. “When I let go, you will do three things. You will fetch me a length of rope. You will tell me your safeword. And when you return with my rope, little assassin, you will kneel to me.” There was no hint of doubt in her voice.

Victor stared at her, then nodded, barely, he was focusing on the feel of her hand clenched around his throat, something no one had done and lived for much longer afterwards. Once he was released he went to a closet across from his room where he kept things he used on his jobs and retrieved the shortest length of rope he owned which was 5 feet. He closed the closet then returned back to the living room. Victor handed her the rope then knelt before her. “Vampire,” he said, by way of telling her his safe word. Victor was uncertain, this was most definitely not familiar ground for him and he had never, since leaving the Institute given himself up to anyone.

Summer slid her hand down his throat, curling her nails into his skin sharply. “I’ve already answered that question, darling,” she whispered. “Are you going to be obedient about it, or rebellious? You /do/ want to please me, don’t you?”

Victor gasped out a little at the thrill of the pain from her nails then swallowed again. ” ‘m afraid it’s not in m’ nature t’ be obedient, love. Tha Institute couldn’t teach it t’ me, but perhaps you can,” he said while he held her gaze, his voice thick.

“Well there’s not much to them love.” Then Victor raised an eyebrow as he stared at her, the tone of her voice sending sparks through his spine in a rather unfamiliar way. There was surprise yet intense curiosity in his eyes and maybe even, and he couldn’t believe it, a little arousal. “And how would you go about doing that darling?”

“Might have to spank you,” she murmured, chewing on her lip, eyes hooded. Her tone was speculative. One hand found its way back into his hair, fisting and tugging. “A little pain, just to drive my point home.”

He raised an eyebrow but gasped a bit when she grabbed his hair and tugged. His eyes locked onto hers, but he didn’t wrench away. “You might need a bit more than a little, Summer.”

“Oh?” she replied archly. “Do you /want/ to be punished, Victor … darling?” Despite the fact that he was above her, larger and stronger and faster in almost every way, the thrill of control sang in her veins. Deliberately, she rolled off the couch, circling behind it and sliding a hand under Victor’s chin, forcing his head back. “Be careful what you wish for.”

His eyes followed her as she got up, and swallowed visibly when she tilted his head back. “How were you planning on punishing me?” His voice was confident but his emotions were another matter. He was aroused, unsure, and curious all at the same time.

Victor blinked. “I was only kidding love. Although, that is a thought. Being hired by SHIELD as a consultant,” he said thoughtfully.

“Don’t joke about confidentiality. I don’t ask you about your employers, do I?” She raised an eyebrow. “Am I going to have to teach you a lesson, Victor?”

“Can’t tell you that.” She pulled his hair. “Who’s little?”

Victor pouted. “Pretty pwease?” He waggled his eyebrows then gave her puppy eyes. “And you are, compared to me at least, love.” He smiled.

Summer smacked his face. “No. Don’t do that. I need to keep this job, and I’m not taking risks that way. You want to be hired by SHIELD, you do that yourself.”

“That sounds interesting, and don’t worry, I know all about confidentiality. You think they’ve got room for one more assassin? I’m virtually indestructible.” Victor added half jokingly. He’d been thinking of a little more legalized version of his occupation, or rather one that was a little more sanctioned. “It must be nice, putting your gifts to use helping other people,” he said almost wistfully while he stroked her hair.

“Well, I’d never be able to do what you do, but I’m not as happy as I could be.” She sighed. “I’m a consultant, on purpose, so I can turn down missions that bother me, and so I can offer my services like when Sandy hit. I was down in New Orleans for almost a year after Katrina. But honestly there are times when I’d rather be in combat instead of having to hang back and wait. I’m only useful when things are at their worst, and it’s a pretty thankless job.”

“What would you rather be doing love?”

“Being a consultant does have it’s ups I suppose. Yeah, I’ve unique skills I suppose. Even before my vampirism I could rival most of the assassins out there. I agree though, the most important jobs are those that are rarely thanked.”

“Oh, hell, I don’t know. You?” Summer smirked.

Victor chuckled. “Yes me,” then added under his breath, “Snarky little girl.” He kissed her. “So who’s your boss?”

“Can’t tell you that.” She pulled his hair. “Who’s little?”
