She blinked at him, confused. Why was this Dimitri so concerned about her? She considered him, head to one side, and brushed him with her power before nodding judiciously.

She stared at him, eyes wide. Was he in the habit of taking in homeless strangers? After a long moment, she nodded again, still watching him carefully. He was trustworthy, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t turn on her later — or his sisters. The hunter could offer them anything. She put her hand on Dimitri’s arm.
