“And you figured I could help you? Interesting… I guess I could show you where it is.”
“Hazards of being an English major.” [That, at least, rings true.] “I just need a source for this one supposedly magical powder … ” [She starts to look around the shelves, bypassing history for new age, until something catches her attention. She freezes, before turning to look at the doors.] “Did you hear that?”
Isaac grew baffled. Magical powder? He was beginning to think he should call her out on her lie when a strange sound came from his side. Swinging his head in the direction of the sounds, Isaac peered at the doors. “Yeah, I heard it but what was it?” He wondered, taking a cautious step towards the doors. He knew he should probably be worried about the fact that she heard the noise too, but he really didn’t have time for it seeing as the sound was gradually becoming louder.
“Trouble,” Summer said grimly. “I’d be even more grateful if you don’t let him take me.” She rocked on the balls of her feet, wishing she had some kind of fighting skill. Making as little noise as possible, she drifted to the edge of a row, eyes fixed on the doors.
Which opened, slowly. A figure stood, silhouetted by the lights in the hall.

“It’s for a paper I’m writing. We’re studying
The Crucible, and I need this one book.” [Lies. All lies.]

“Though I do love to read.”
[ Isaac heard the blip in her heart as she spoke. He wasn’t really sure why the girl had to lie but he really didn’t want to get into that. ]

“The Crucible? Sounds boring and extremely painful to read. Good luck with that.”

“You’re the first person I spotted.”

“If it’s a problem I’ll ask someone else.”
“Well that depends on what you define as a problem.”

“But since I already said I’d show you, follow me.”
