“I,” she paused dramatically, “am not sleeping on the couch. I have a perfectly good bed, and you are welcome to wrestle the cats for your share of it. Assuming they bother to appear. I think they think you smell funny.” As if on cue, a very large, fluffy, seal-point and white cat squeezed himself out from under the couch, sat down, and scratched an ear before fixing the two of them with a very blue gaze.

Victor chuckled and planted another kiss on her shoulder. “I think they’ll be willing to give up the space for me.” He looked up then to see one of said cats staring at them. “What’s this one’s name? Looks very nice.”

“That’s Helios. He’s a Ragdoll.” Summer made kissy noises at Helios, who disdained them magnificently, flopping out on the floor and turning his belly up. “Oh, /someone’s/ a stinker.” She rolled her eyes at Helios. “Um, you said something about breakfast? I, um, kinda don’t have any breakfast foods in the house. I’m not really a morning person.”

Amused, she replied, “Of course you would say that; first time in five years, didn’t you say? But it’s a sweet compliment.” Summer settled herself in as the smaller spoon, tucking her head under his chin. “It was very nice for a first time. Is this where you promise to call me, or respect me in the morning?” She kept her tone light, teasing, concealing her very real fear.

Victor raised an eyebrow at her. “I didn’t realize I was getting kicked out love. I was thinking we’d sleep here…although a bed might be more comfortable. Then I’d make breakfast in the morning and we’d go from there? I’m not the shag em and leave em kind of guy Summer.”

Victor chuckled at her shiver, feeling pleased with himself. “What can I say love? I ha-” His sentence was cut short by her writhing as her thigh brushed his jeans. He squeezed his eyes shut as his breath hitched and a mumbled “fuck” escaped his lips. Victor opened his eyes then, they were a smoldering hazel but his pupils were so dilated the hazel was barely visible. He definitely didn’t want to do anything that she didn’t want to do. He was torn between his warring emotions of wanting to do what she wanted and his raging desire.

Summer laughed, breathlessly. “So maybe my body is convinced that this talking thing should stop, and you should just take all my clothes off right now.” She spread a hand on his chest, pressing down a little. “Pretty sure I hear the same thing from you.” Licking her lips, she met his eyes. “I think you should persuade me … “

Victor’s eyes darkened even more and a low growl of desire came from him. He switched their positions so that she was on her back and he kissed her hard. He nipped at her bottom lip, his mouth seeking dominance over hers while his hands were doing everything but the ravaging his mouth was doing. His hands were ghosting up and down her sides and thighs. “I want you so much,” he said, his voice filled with emotion and desire. “And I want to make you feel the same.”

“Too late,” she teased, trying not to shudder uncontrollably under his touch. “I guess I just have more control than you.” Summer clasped her hands behind his neck, sliding fingers into his hair. “Come on, Victor darling, make me lose it.”

The expression on Victor’s face when he discovered she was wearing a tank top made Summer break up into uncontrollable laughter. She laughed so hard she couldn’t move, and every time she looked back at his face she started laughing all over again. “Oh, Victor,” she managed, finally, “darling, you should have seen your face.”

Victor followed her closely past the gate and stood directly behind Summer and breathed into her neck. “I’d love for you to show me, Summer.”

“Greedy,” she riposted easily. “Have a little patience.” Grinning, she pushed up on her toes just enough to whack Victor on the chin. “I’m not a headrest, darlin’.”

Victor grunted in surprise. “Oi!” He feigned hurt and mock glared at her. “That was entirely uncalled for love.” He rubbed his chin a little, further playing up the drama. After a little bit he gave up and pouted for a moment, looking very much like a puppy.”

His expression turned into something just a tad more serious for a moment as he looked around at his surroundings. “I can be patient….when I want to be.” He added before cocking his head. “Have you lived here long?”

“Six or eight years … I’d have to stop and think about it. Why?” Turning around and shutting the door behind him, Summer smiled up at Victor. “It’s not much of a place, but it’s mine.”

Victor nodded, shrugged then smiled down at her. “I was just curious. In the past I haven’t really stayed in one place for more than a year or two.” He gave another shrug then took her hand in his. “It’s a nice place love.” Victor looked around him some more, the apartment really did have a nice feel to it. He looked at her then, wondering what she all had in mind.

“Maybe you’ll be able to stay for a while in the city.” A quick spin had Victor’s arm wrapped around her. “So where were we? Oh, right,” Summer winked. “You were trying to freeze me to death.”

“That’s the plan love.”

He laughed at her words a bit then bent his head to resume what he had been doing at the park. He breathed her in and smiled against her skin as he kissed his way over her shoulder, to her neck where he let his tongue flick out a bit. Victor turned her so that she was facing him, continuing his attention to her neck before moving to her jaw. “You have the most intoxicating scent, Summer,” he whispered against her skin.

She had to tip her head back, rocking a little and trusting him to hold her. “Hmmm, how is that? If you say anything that reminds me of Twilight … ” The shiver induced by his mouth below her ear interrupted the end of her sentence.
