“You really need more persuasion?” Tony asked in disbelief. “I called you a pain in the ass and kissed you. What else can I do?” he laughed.

“No, you idiot, I /need/ you to kiss me some more, somewhere that I’m not breaking my neck trying to get to your mouth.” Summer rolled her eyes at him.

“Well then.” Tony grinned before pressing their lips together again. He slowly tried to slide his tongue into Summer’s mouth and grinned when she allowed him.

She didn’t let that kiss go on very long before breaking off and looping her arms around his waist. “Come,” Summer demanded, steering him toward the chair she’d been sitting in just a moment ago.

“You got something planned for me Nerd girl?” Tony teased as he was pulled towards the chair. “Hope it involves you holding my hand so I can win this damn bet.”

“Yes, it involves me not having to stretch upward all the time,” she retorted, pushing him down. “You in a hurry to win, geekboy?” One hand on the back of the chair, she threaded the other into his hair, thumb brushing over his mouth. “You want me to let you win?” she murmured, laughing into his eyes.

“Are you sure you want to let me win?” Tony smirked. “Could you really handle cleaning this place for a month and calling me Mr Irresistible while you do it?” He grinned as he opened his mouth to playfully bite at her thumb. “It’s up to you.” He grinned holding up his hand to see if she would take it.

“Not ever going to be that easy, Tony.” Summer ignored his hand, pressing her thumb against his tongue for a quick moment before swooping in to kiss him again, tongue tangling with his. A deep hum broke from her throat as she closed her eyes, angling just enough to keep from bashing their noses together.

Summer opened her mouth, then closed it. “I don’t know what to say,” she admitted finally. “Or do.” Despite that, she got up and stepped slowly toward Tony. If it was just an elaborate joke, he’d move away now. She wouldn’t force him. One hand lifted to pull him down, to kiss him.

“Well now you’re finally getting the idea.” Tony grinned, leaning into the kiss. “So you believe me now?” Tony said with a chuckle in his voice.

“Not sure yet,” she whispered. “Come sit down so my toes don’t break and persuade me some more.”

“Maybe I have a little crush on you Summer,” Tony said wiggling his eyebrows at her. “What’s so far fetched about a self obsessed genius having a crush on the annoying too smart nerd girl?”

She spluttered, failing at an answer for a long moment. Finally she managed, “Because it’s never happened before. Not seriously. The one guy I ever dated, I asked him out. Four months later he claimed I’d cast a spell on him to make him love me.” Her face burned, confessing that. But as long as she was telling truths …

“Besides, you liking me would be too much like a dream come true.”

“Well wake up Summer cause I got a crush on you.” Tony grinned. “You’re annoying and too damn smart and it drives me nuts. But here we are. Tony Stark has a crush on you.”

“Who said it was a joke?” Tony said raising his eyebrows.

“Why would it not be a joke? I don’t think I’m your type, Tony.” One hand caught the back of the chair she’d been sitting in earlier, and she dropped into it, not meeting Tony’s eyes. She could still feel the press of his mouth to hers, and she couldn’t decide if she was annoyed and being taken advantage of, or wanted more.

“I don’t have a type.” Tony rolled his eyes. “If you’ll remember I’m pretty against generalizations. I kissed you because I wanted to.” He held up his phone. “Now will you shut up for like two seconds while I order the pizza?” he smirked.

“I am /so/ confused,” Summer muttered to herself. She rubbed at her face. When Tony hung up the phone, she sighed. “What the fuck is going on?”

“I kissed you because I wanted to. And so you would stop tormenting my fish.” Tony shrugged. “I don’t know what you’re so confused about.”

“Tony,” Summer explained matter-of-factly, “Nobody wants to kiss me. I’m not pretty, I’m a nerd, and I’m annoying and too smart. You want to give the /real/ reason?”

“That sounds like a challenge,” Tony said walking over to her with a mischievous look. He wrapped his arms around her neck and pulled her into a kiss. “Note that I didn’t touch your hands so the bet continues on,” he smirked as he pulled away.

Summer froze. Very slowly, she lifted a shaking hand to her mouth.

“I don’t fuck around when it comes to my fish,” Tony said curtly as he returned to the kitchen to order the pizza.

She forced herself to take a deep breath before she said anything. “I haven’t been kissed in over a year,” she told him quietly. “Please don’t … do that as a joke.” She thought she might be sick.
