“Nono, there’s stuff /in/ the box.” There was a lot, actually. A couple of books she hoped he’d like, a couple of bracelets she’d made with the Iron Man helmet and the arc reactor in beadwork, some cat toys and a little, carefully labelled, packet of catnip, because she heard he liked cats. “But the box is for keeping, too.”

Well that answered that question. Managing to get the box out of the paper with little ripping of it, for which Robert was glad because damn did he want to save the paper, he opened the lid of the box and took a look inside. At peering at what was held inside, the actor’s face lit up, his face clearly showing his surprise. “And here I thought the paper was perfect. I’d say the gifts inside are even better than that. And some are handmade, which makes them even more special. Thanks. I appreciate it… more than I’m actually showing, if that’s even at all possible.”

She coloured, smiling so hard she thought her face might split. “I’m so glad. I tried to think of good things, instead of being all fangirl. I thought, since you seemed to really be interested in Asian things, you would like these books, since they’re based on Chinese history … ” Wow, okay, his emotions were almost overwhelming. It /was/ nice to be able to know that he really did like it a lot, though.

Robert pulled the books from the box, taking a good look at them. At least someone paid attention to the fact he actually enjoyed the Chinese culture and what not. Plus, now he had more reading material for flights back and forth between countries. “Which works out wonderfully. Plus you hit the Iron Man idea, and thought of my cats too. They’ve been overdue for some new toys, and they’ll go nuts over the catnip. Between the both of us, I try not to give them a whole lot, otherwise things end up broken from them reacting to it.” He returned the books to the box before putting the paper inside it as well, shutting the box afterward. “This was perfect. Thank you. I really do appreciate it.”

“One of my cats thinks catnip is for eating,” she confessed, her smile turning mischievous. “If I put it on a scratchy box he licks the box. Phoebe and Kronos get stoned on it.” She paused to consider. “I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Doc react to catnip. It’s probably just as well.” Looking from the box back up to his face, she added, “I couldn’t think of anything worthwhile that was Sherlock Holmes related. I’m sorry.”
