Erica couldn’t help but to laugh as Summer smacked straight into a lamp post. “Oh my god, are you ok?” She was giggling as she walked over to her and put her arms around her shoulder.
“Why don’t you want him to know, Summer? You don’t think he would like you if he knew it was you? He totally would. But I suppose the secrecy must be kinda sexy.” She grinned at her.
She blew out a breath. “Nobody ever liked me back at my old school, okay, Erica? I don’t want to take the risk. I don’t want him to laugh at me with my pitiful little hopes.” Summer shrugged uncomfortably. “Why would anyone ever look at me with you there, anyway? You’re lots prettier and more exciting than I am.”
“Hey, Summer, you didn’t see me before I got wolfed up. Nobody liked or even noticed me. And even now, the one guy that I want to notice me still won’t.” She let out a small sigh as she gave Summer a half smile. “I know Isaac and he would never laugh at you, if he likes you I think you should go for it.”
“He’s kind of still wound up in Lydia, who is still all about Aiden,” Summer commented, about Stiles. “You see what I mean? He probably likes someone else, and I’m just … I’m not gonna be — I can’t, I just can’t. He knows someone likes him and that’s all it’s gonna be.” She made pretend wolfy claws at Erica. “What the hell was up with that anyway? I don’t even get it. Why should being, you know, bitten make so much difference to you?”
