Erica couldn’t help but to laugh as Summer smacked straight into a lamp post. “Oh my god, are you ok?” She was giggling as she walked over to her and put her arms around her shoulder.
“Ngh,” Summer managed, rubbing her forehead with one hand and clutching her phone with the other. “It moved. It jumped in front of me, I swear.”
“No, it was there the whole time, you were just preoccupied with your phone. Who are you texting anyway? You haven’t looked away from it for the whole day.”
“Uh,” she started, and turned the phone’s screen away from Erica. “Just a friend.” How could she tell Erica it was Isaac? That would be awful.
“A friend huh? A boy?” She raised her eyebrows at Summer as she looked over at her. “A boy that you like?”
Summer made a face at Erica. “Why do you have to be so damn perceptive?” Then she stuck out her tongue and shoved the phone into her back pocket.
