Summer said uncomfortably, “I’m used to being picked on for my Tolkien obsession.” Her heart jumped when he leaned over her, and she wouldn’t let herself look at him. “They’re all my favourites, that’s why I brought them.” Her hand hovered over Labyrinth, then Pacific Rim. “This one?”

“I’ve never read the books but the films are awesome. And I’m not picking on you, am I? If anything, I’m just as much a geek as you are.” He teased her then, trying to inject a little light-hearted humour into the conversation, slowly pulling back so as not to crowd her. He cast her an apologetic smile, before nodding and wrapping his arms around his waist. “I’ve not seen it yet – is it good?”

“It’s amazing. Everything you never knew you wanted in a live-action giant robot movie. Huge fight sequences, actual science, psuedo-military organization, and a really gross bit. And Ron Perlman.” Summer pulled it off the shelf and snapped the case open, quickly setting up the media system. She chose to sit on the other end of the couch from where Isaac had been sitting, and hit play.
