“I was talking to the /cat/,” she shouted back, through the open front door. “Bring my bag in, please? I’m going to open up the house.” She set Helios loose in the master bedroom, casting an approving glance at the king-size bed. The double glass doors led out to the beach, and she opened them, letting a salt-laden breeze stream through, before heading back out to the car.

“I kind of gathered that – it’s cute, you know?” he called back and nodded, almost forgetting that she couldn’t see him as he moved around the other end of the car to reach for her bag. Cursing at the weight of the thing, he wondered what she’d packed and then shrugged it off, not needing nor wanting to know. Dragging it over-dramatically into the bungalow, he dropped it at the foot of the king-size bed, eyeing it with a shy smile and pondering over just how much time they would be spending there.

Coming in from the kitchen, Summer grinned at him. “You act like you don’t have super-strength. I carried it without any problem. It’s not that heavy.” She knelt and began to rummage through it, pulling out several swimsuits. “I believe you said something about … my being good?” She flicked a glance up at him, and stood up. “But you never said what ‘good’ was.”
