“I think I have one,” she blurted, looking at him. “We could … we could share the blankets?” She didn’t mention that not only was she more than used to sharing a bed, but having more than one blanket would be a luxury for her.
“Good to know,” Isaac said softly and made to find a soft spot on the ground to lay on, before her following words caused him to still, and then slowly turn to face her. “Are you sure?”
Hastily she explained, “I — it would be bad if you caught a chill.” Turning her eyes away from him, she approached Buttons, holding out a hand until the horse settled down and then finding the blankets.
