“Yes, of course.” Hopefully a stream would be close by; she didn’t really relish the thought of being alone in the forest for very long. While he was gone, she shook out the blankets and unsaddled Buttons, rubbing the horse down with some handfuls of grass and putting a blanket over him. “Good boy,” she cooed to him, and he whuffled at her. She found a shallow curve of earth by the fire and cleared away the little sticks and nutshells and stones that she could find, then spread the blankets out.
Trotting off with a bucket lodged under his arm, Sir Isaac returned some time later with the handle clasped between his hands, nearly waddling as he tried his hardest not to spill any of it. Setting it down in front of his horse, he scratched behind his ear before smiling at him as he began to drink. “You were thirsty huh, boy? I’ll try and keep closer to the water as we travel, okay?” He murmured and then twisted to face Summer, eyes widening with approval as they scanned the make-shift camp. “Someone’s been busy while I was away!”
She shrugged, glancing around. “It’s not so difficult. I’m not helpless, after all.” She sat down, knees tucked up, at the far end of the blankets. “Is there anything else you need me to do, Sir Isaac?”
