“No, I can see that,” the prince murmured. “I expect I would have done the same in your position.” He gave Sir Isaac a penetrating look and pulled him a few steps away into an alcove. “You’re enamoured of this girl already, aren’t you?”

“I think I love her,” he blurted out and ducked his head, clearly embarrassed about the entire thing. “She kissed me last night, but I’m thinking it’s because I was there…she protested because we’re so different, so how can I know that she feels the same way, Derek?!” he rambled out nervously, tangling his fingers in his hair.

Prince Derek glanced back out to where Summer stood, hands twined together, eyes fixed on Sir Isaac. “She obviously trusts you,” he told the twitchy young knight. “She’s your responsibility now. I’ll ask Cora to help you out, but you know how she feels about you.” He started to step away, then turned back. “You know, you never mentioned her /name/.”
