She blinked sleepily at him for a moment. “You wouldn’t have to ask your Prince to protect people for you. You could rent out the land to farmers and craftsfolk and villagers and give shelter to whomever you liked.”
“I already am giving shelter to the only person I care about…but perhaps I could take Derek up on his offer, and then send for your brother and all of the other children to come here…” Isaac mused thoughtfully and stretched out, absently scratching at his abdomen.
She inched closer, pillowing her head on his shoulder, and yawned. “Just the children? What about the rest of my family? Would you take the children away from their families as well?”
