“You never courted anyone else? Not ever?” she asked curiously, a bit surprised. He had mentioned something like it before, but she still had a hard time believing it.
“I never saw anybody that I wanted to court until I met you,” he admitted in all honesty, not wanting to go into too much detail as to how his childhood had proved to be an obstacle with trusting other people. “I do believe that people were interested, though. Or so I’ve heard.”
