She nodded miserably. “My twin, Isaac,” she whispered. “Imagine if your family, your mother, your brother, came back, came for you. How can I — turn them away?” She rocked back, looking at his face, tears sliding down her cheeks.
“I know they’re all dead, and there’s not much chance of them returning, is there?” he whispered sadly and lowered his gaze, knowing that she was going to leave him there and then. “When…w-when will you be leaving?”
“Come with me,” she said suddenly, taking his hands. “I don’t want to be alone in a strange place again, come with me.”
