Almost inaudibly, she murmured, “You have to let me go.” But even as she said it, she was pushing herself into his hands, bending to kiss his mouth.
“I know I do, but I don’t want to,” he protested softly and leaned up into her lips, the tears continuing to roll down his face as he pulled her onto his lap. “Just…just a moment longer, okay?”
She didn’t resist, swaying into his pull and keeping her hands on him. She kept kissing him, too, rather than answer, clinging to him. She kissed him harder, cupping his face, wiping the tears away.
