“I’m an empath. I can feel what other people feel. You used the word yourself, but you meant the other meaning. Everything else was correct, though, a blessing and a curse.” She shook her head a little. “Ow. I should’ve resisted the urge to show off. Merlin and Mordred are really /loud/.”
He frowned. These things didn’t exist. At least, not in the real worlds. “Just how much can you feel?” he asked, slightly intrigued. He chuckled. “Are they really that loud?”
“Quite a lot, if I take my shields down. Which I just did, to pull that trick. It’s like being in the middle of a room of screaming people. Give me a second.” Her eyes went out of focus for a moment, while she rubbed at her temple. Then she let out a long breath and the lines of her face relaxed. “They’ve just discovered one another, and so when they’re in bed together it’s very … ” She waved a hand. “I don’t know the right word. Loud is the closest.”
