“Happy to oblige, milady.” Daniel kissed his way up Summers neck, her jaw, and finally chastely kissed her lips.

“Hey!” She swatted the back of his head. “Don’t do that, I hate that. I’m not that short. What the hell, Daniel?”

“Hey!” he rubbed the back of his head. “What do you mean, what the hell, Summer?”

“I mean, I say a silly thing, and you take me far more seriously than I expect!” She touched a hand to her mouth, eyes going slightly distant, before focusing back on him. “I … “

I didn’t think you liked me that way.

“Sorry?” Daniel looked at her sadly, at a loss for what he could say to Summer. “I just- and- urr.” He looked away, blushing. “I’m a bit, well awkward with people.”

“Hey. Hey,” she said softly, “I’m not upset, just /really/ confused.” Gulping, she plowed on, “I liked it. It’s only — the second one was just really unexpected.”
