Helios contentedly let Tony flop his paw around, all limp tendons and boneless felinity. The purr increased in volume, and he slitted his eyes at Tony. A pink tongue licked at his nose and Tony’s arm.

Tony patted the paw to Helios’s nose a couple times, and then finally scooped up the entire cat.  He shifted, sitting back on his rear with his legs splayed in front of him, and cradled Helios with one arm, his other hand scratching Helios’s neck and chest.  “Lazy furball.”

Purrfully, loud enough to be heard across the room, Helios wrapped his paws lightly around Tony’s forearm, like he was hugging the arm. He was even more relaxed in Tony’s arms than he’d been on the floor, the end of his tail twitching gently back and forth. When Tony scratched his chest, he looked down and licked at the hand, then licked his own nose again, and left the end of his tongue hanging out a little bit.

He laughed quietly, and poked the tip of one finger against the cat’s nose.  “Boop.”  Keeping Helios balanced with one arm, he pushed himself up to his feet.  “I think I feel a nap coming on,” he informed the cat, as he headed for the penthouse.  “What do you think?”

Helios swiped at the finger with his tongue, but missed, and scrunched his chin down into his chest ruff, looking smug. He greeted Tony’s question with an enormous, toothy yawn. His eyes got a little wild and his ears twitched around a lot as Tony carried him down the halls, and he lifted his back feet and spread the toes, trying to sit up in the curve on Tony’s arm.
