His words made her blush deepen, and she closed her eyes and turned her face a little, into his kisses. “So much, Isaac. So much.” She felt like she could lie there forever, protected and blissful in his arms, and want for nothing else.
And then her stomach growled.
He couldn’t stop brushing his lips across her skin, mapping out the journey that his fingers had made only moments before, his eyes locking with hers. As she returned the words, his smile only widened and he cradled her against his chest, enjoying the intimacy of the moment before it was interrupted by her stomach and he burst out laughing, body shaking against hers.
She shoved at him, gently, pretending to be annoyed at his laughter. “Alas, I love a man possessed of cruelty. I can’t subsist on your love, dearest. I shall die of starvation.”
