She pulled back just a little, enough to look into his eyes, and smiled slightly back. “Are you laughing at me, Sir Knight?” she asked softly. “That doesn’t seem very chivalrous.”

“With you, Summer, I’m laughing with you.” He chuckled breathlessly against her lips, eyes locking with hers as the kiss broke, a faint blush decorating his cheeks. “And perhaps I don’t want to be chivalrous all the time — I’m only human after all.”

Summer looped both arms around his neck. “Don’t be chivalrous,” she whispered. She pulled his head down again, kissing him, softer but just as passionate.
