She inched closer, pillowing her head on his shoulder, and yawned. “Just the children? What about the rest of my family? Would you take the children away from their families as well?”
“I’ll take everyone away — the whole town if they were willing,” he admitted with a smile, absently tangling his fingers in her hair, appearing to be unaware that he’s doing so. “We could use a boost in the population.”
“Idealist,” she accused softly, snuggling still closer. “Handsome, sheltered, wonderful, foolish knight-idealist … ” Her eyes slipped closed.
