She shrugged, glancing around. “It’s not so difficult. I’m not helpless, after all.” She sat down, knees tucked up, at the far end of the blankets. “Is there anything else you need me to do, Sir Isaac?”

Sir Isaac exhaled a long-suffering sigh and whirled to face her, eyes narrowing as his jaw clenched in obvious annoyance. “How many times must I ask you to stop calling me that? And I never once implied that you were helpless,” he added on then, before dropping down to join her, folding his arms across his chest.

“You seemed so impressed,” she said sullenly. “As if you didn’t think I would be capable of surviving in the forest without you.”
