She dangled the swimsuits at him, one from each hand. “I have to change. You can go on, if you’re in such a hurry.” Turning toward the bathroom, she tossed back over her shoulder, waggling her eyebrows, “Of course, you could help me. If you wanted.”

He shook his head, seeming to be captivated by the sight before him, like a dog eyeing up a delicious treat held just out of his reach by the owner. “Tease,” he murmured and eagerly sauntered after her, fingers curling around her hips as his eyes widened. “I’d be a fool to refuse the chance to undress you, hm?”

Summer laughed, tossing the swimsuits on the counter. “And you’ve never been a fool?” She turned in his hands and leaned on the edge of the sink, sliding her hands up his chest. The fingers of one hand found a button and played with it.

Coming in from the kitchen, Summer grinned at him. “You act like you don’t have super-strength. I carried it without any problem. It’s not that heavy.” She knelt and began to rummage through it, pulling out several swimsuits. “I believe you said something about … my being good?” She flicked a glance up at him, and stood up. “But you never said what ‘good’ was.”

“I know, I know – did you pack everything you own, or what?” He grinned and padded over to kiss her on the nose, shivering then as his eyes fell on the contents of the bag, clearly picturing her modelling each outfit for him. “Hmm? I haven’t decided yet- but I’ll be sure to let you know when I do, okay? Unless you have an idea, maybe we could go down to the beach now?”

“I was talking to the /cat/,” she shouted back, through the open front door. “Bring my bag in, please? I’m going to open up the house.” She set Helios loose in the master bedroom, casting an approving glance at the king-size bed. The double glass doors led out to the beach, and she opened them, letting a salt-laden breeze stream through, before heading back out to the car.

“I kind of gathered that – it’s cute, you know?” he called back and nodded, almost forgetting that she couldn’t see him as he moved around the other end of the car to reach for her bag. Cursing at the weight of the thing, he wondered what she’d packed and then shrugged it off, not needing nor wanting to know. Dragging it over-dramatically into the bungalow, he dropped it at the foot of the king-size bed, eyeing it with a shy smile and pondering over just how much time they would be spending there.

She laughed and bit at her lip before twisting away. “It won’t matter if you don’t get out of the car.” Helios chose that moment to start purring, and she grabbed the handle of his carry-case. “Yes, I’ll start with you, furbutt.” Ducking out of the car, she deliberately put a little sway in her hips as she went inside, popping the trunk open as she went.

“…Furbutt? Such an original come-back! Bet that took you the whole drive to think of that one, huh?” Isaac teased her mercilessly, unbuckling his seatbelt and then clambering out of the car. Stopping to shamelessly eye the tantalizing sway of her hips as she moved round to the rear of the car, he licked at his lips and then angled his head back, smiling and closing his eyes as the sun warmed his face.

Summer smirked over at him. “I have to be good? Or you’re going to swim in your shirt?” Unbuckling herself, she leaned over the gearshift. “Define ‘good’,” she purred. “‘Good’ as in let you watch me while I change? ‘Good’ as in don’t tease you anymore?”

“…Maybe you can be a little bit naughty?” he whispered and licked at his lips, clutching at his bag as he placed it over his lap, squirming at the expression on her face. “I might need a cold shower before we even hit the beach…”

“There is no point in being at the beach if we don’t swim,” she declared. “We’ll take our stuff inside and I’ll set Helios loose and then we can swim. I have to put on my suit though.” The road twisted and turned through the forest, and she stuck her tongue out of one corner of her mouth as she concentrated. “There’s the town.” It only took a few more minutes before she parked the car near a little bungalow, at the end of a row with a lot of others.

“And here we are.”

“I’ve already got mine on, obviously, but if you’re really good, I might let you see my chest.” He teased her mercilessly and then he eyed her fondly, finding the expression on her face quite endearing. Then, he shifted to gaze through the window at the bungalow, eyes widening in awe. “It’s beautiful, Summer….thank you for bringing me here.”

She laughed and rolled her eyes. “You’ll have to wait til we actually get there, then. I can’t buy enough food to fill you up at a fast food joint.” She cast him a sly glance. “Unless there’s something else you’re hungry for.” She spotted the sign for the Muir woods and sat up a little. “Just a little while longer.”

“That all depends, doesn’t it?” He shifted in the seat and used the bag to cover himself, hating how hair-trigger he was just from the sound of her voice. Blushing and straightening up then, he nodded and settled back comfortably against the seat. “Can we go swimming?”

“Have you never been this way before? Sometimes when I visit my aunt down here I go this way.” She resisted the temptation to pet that skin, just taking his hand. “We’re almost there. Are you hungry again? I thought — I brought a surprise for you. I thought we could just wander down the beach?”

“My brother wanted to take me when he came back from his first tour…but he never made it home. I was always going to drive out here once I passed my test though,” he admitted with a small smile, reaching to curl his fingers around hers as he nodded with an eager enthusiasm. “Summer – I’m a teenage boy; I’m always hungry. And yeah, that sounds perfect!”

“You can go ahead and eat, I don’t mind. I just need to concentrate — hey, pick a lane, asshole!” She glared out the window and hit the gas, falling silent except for occasionally grumbly mutters and swear words until they reached the highway. Finally her shoulders relaxed. “Okay. Fries? I need fries.”

He kept passing her food as she asked for it, and they talked companionably for a while, about other plans for the summer, and a little bit about grades, although she sensed he didn’t want to linger on that subject. After a while he settled back against the headrest and napped, and she drove quietly, soft wind kissing her cheek. She woke him up again when they got to the bay, so he could see the way the light glittered off the water.

Laughing aloud and watching her with a fond and crooked smile, Isaac nodded and tore open his bag, inhaling his food within moments and then settling back to rub at his pleasantly full stomach.

Content to sit there and hand her food, they chatted about every possible topic in an attempt to pass the time before Isaac eventually drifted off, curls ruffling as the wind filled the car, tousling up the unruly locks. As she awoke, he stretched and winced as his back cracked, scratching at the strip of skin showing as his shirt had ridden up, before he gazed in awe at the scenery around them. “Oh wow…”

“There’s a fire pit outside on the beach. The cabin has a tiny private bit of beach.” She shushed him when they pulled up at the fast food drive through, just asking him what he wanted. After they got their food, she handed him the bags. “Can you just hold mine until I get out on the highway? I don’t want to be distracted while we’re still in town.”

“Private, huh? Sounds perfect.” He hummed and licked at his lips, before nodding and settling back against the seat, casting a polite smile to their server. Cradling the bags to his chest as they pulled away from the Drive Thru, he sniffed and licked at his lips. “These smell delicious, by the way.”
