The three of them, that went through the ritual — the thing they’re losing right now, that they can’t control, is the thing that’s most important to them about themselves. Stiles values knowledge; we see it from the beginning in the way he hurls himself into the research, and how smart he actually is. Allison values her ability to defend herself. Scott values his control.

And those are the things they’re losing.
