She stuck her lip out. “You don’t love me? Cruel, Merlin!”
He grinned. Yep, that’s me. Merlin, the cruel, evil sorcerer.
“Indeed!” She stuck her tongue out at him. “Truly, it wasn’t me. You thrash too much in your sleep for my taste.”
I believe you. You normally would have done something to give yourself away by now, he teased before raising an eyebrow. Wait, when have you seen me sleep?
“I haven’t. Your restlessness is legendary,” she assures him. “Many knights complain of it.”

He huffed and rolled his eyes. You’re infuriating. You know that? he only half meant it.

Well, who else would it have been? I don’t know anybody else who would buy nail paints and isn’t currently missing!
“I blame … Gaius.” She wrinkled her nose. “It’s a mystery to me, honestly, Merlin. Maybe you should set wards on your sleep!”
Right, and why would Gaius have nail paints? he rolled his eyes. If I could do that, I would have done it on Arthur ages ago.
