“Every Christmas will be better than the last … ” She shivered slightly under his mouth, leaning back on her hands, hair pooling on the floor. The fire popped, and she grinned. “Are you going to make love to me in front of the fire, babe?”
“I don’t know how we can top this … I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed Christmas,” he teased and pressed an open-mouthed kiss to each breast, his fingers curling around her hips as he nodded. “I’d like that, Summer,” he conceded and lowered her to the ground to hover above her, eyeing her fondly. “I love you.”
She kept her ankles wrapped around his hips, eyes laughing up at him as he laid her back into the puddle of her hair. “I love you,” she replied. “So much.” She threw her arms to the sides as if to demonstrate how much. “I promise, every year it will get better. Imagine playing Santa Claus for little children. Imagine having our big family over for dinner, and playing in the snow … “
The empath shuddered slightly, making a deep moan at the warmth of Isaac’s hand. “C’mon c’mon …” he whimpered.
Trembling as he held his hips flush against his boyfriend’s rear, he nodded and slowly pulled out, only to thrust back in, immediately setting up a gentle, but deep pace. “O-oh…I love you….”
All Summer could do at that point was make various noises indicative of pleasure. “We’re — we’re doing this again when — ngh — god Isaac — when I’m female … ” he managed to force out, between whimpers, rocking back in tune with the werewolf’s rhythm.
Of course, I should have thought that people would lose their checks; of course there’s a system in place to deal with that.
Wow, talk about a crazy week for me. I’ve got a new job, and it starts a month earlier than I expected. Feb. 2. It’s regular business hours, so I won’t be on during this time of day anymore, but I’ll see replies and things and do them when I get home. I’m grading US standardized tests that can’t be graded by a computer. So if you take a writing test in the US, I might be grading it!
And I had lost my last paycheck from my seasonal job, but I just called and that’s going to be reissued to me, plus I have surprise money from my investments, and I’m going to Detroit tomorrow for almost a week!
She leaned down, hair falling around their faces, and kissed him slowly. “Take what you want, then.”
Hiding away in the curtain of her hair, he returned the passionate kiss and framed her head in his hands, shivering underneath her, Then, he wriggled out and flipped them over, kissing his way down her stomach, eyes locking with hers. “Can I…?” he questioned as he pressed a kiss to the inside of her thigh.
She squeaked delightedly when he turned them over, giggling. Her skin shivered under his kisses, and then she nodded breathlessly, eyes sparkling.
Derek was a little startled at the sudden hug and rush of emotion, though he caught her and tentatively patted her back soothingly, still a tad bit stunned at the force of her gratitude but glad he could help and make someone feel so thankful.
She patted the space to either side of her, looking small and lost all alone in the big bed. When they climbed in, she laid down on her side again, and hesitantly reached out to put an arm over Isaac’s waist. As her fingers brushed his skin she flinched away, reaching to grab Derek’s arm instead and pull it around her own waist. Then tentatively she tried again with Isaac.
Derek and Isaac complied and crawled back in, getting set how they’d been before. Isaac felt a little hand brush him but jump back, holding still and hiding his face in the pillow. He could feel her hesitation.
Derek, when bid to, scooted forward and curled himself around Summer’s back, arm around her waist loosely, easy touch. As her hand slid out for Isaac again, Derek’s went also, gently touching Isaac first, calming his own nerves. He had a history he hadn’t shared with Summer yet, but Derek knew it, and gave the contact to relax him, so Summer wouldn’t get that anxiety. Isaac relaxed into the bed under Derek’s hand, welcoming Summer’s hand next.
This felt right. Familiar. Someone curled at her back, guarding her from the things that went bump in the night. She smiled in the dark at that idea, that some of the things that went bump would protect her from other things. But then she knew that humans could be more monstrous than anything called a monster. Waiting for sleep to reclaim her, she stroked Isaac’s back lightly.

Derek snarled lowly but kept his head down as he was transferred to the person that bought him, seeing a small female form before him now.
“You just really don’t feel comfortable with deciding what to do for yourself yet, do you?” It could sound condescending, but she kept her voice grave and gentle, eyes calm and expression kind. “First, I want you to eat.” She tapped the edge of the tablet against the tray in emphasis. “Then, I want you to take a shower. Don’t worry about using up all the hot water. I’ll come back in half an hour or so to check on you. Is that okay with you?”
“Freewill got your back butterflied like a steak in the market, what do you expect from that kind of conditioning,” he shot back, glaring and growling at her lowly in defense, no matter the tone she used with him. He wasn’t an animal, he’d just been treated like one most of his life.
“Sounds fine,” he grunted out, no longer even looking at her, choosing to examine his own knees.
She paused on her way out the door, glancing over her shoulder with a lifted eyebrow. “You have enough spirit to growl at me. I honestly expected you to run away at the first opportunity.”

Summer’s mouth twitched a little, as if she was concealing a smile. “You have a very good point,” she said gravely, instead. “I will bear that in mind. Will you come with me now to see Spring, or would you rather eat and sleep some more?”
“I don’t think I need to sleep more just yet,” he murmured. He’d caught sight of a clock. It’d been almost 12 hours that he was asleep. He didn’t know how long she’d been sitting in his room.

When he said Isaac’s name, she started, eyes falling shut. Her senses felt raw and abused, but she reached out all the same, lightly touching both werewolves with her mind before she sagged forward in Derek’s hands. Safe. She was safe, it was just a dream.
Relaxing her grip, she put her hands around Derek’s wrists for a moment, trying to slow her breathing and heartbeat, then looked up and gave him a wan smile. She climbed back on the bed, fastidiously straightening the covers, before giving each werewolf a pleading look.
Isaac took a tentative step forward as Summer slumped into Derek. Derek for his part just held her and let her hold his wrists and breathe. When she got back up, he and Isaac just watched.
When she finally gave them both that look, Derek tugged Isaac by the front of his boxers, making the elastic pop against his hip. He yelped and Derek smirked as they both shuffled back to the bed. “Okay, we’re here. How do you want us?” he asked softly, giving her a gentle smile, Isaac rubbing his hip with a pout, though he wasn’t hurt. Just mad Derek had got him first.
