hate. /hāt/ -intense or passionate dislike. Your messages, as can be seen in your tag, that you’re sending to new followers are uncalled for and rude, rude to the point which I would classify it as intense or passionate dislike for the general public, specifically those who originally wanted to interact with you. That’s not telling people to play nice. That’s being an asshole and, frankly, running off any potential interaction.

So far, virtually everyone I’ve sent those messages to has been someone who has followed me, but done nothing beyond that. I personally find that incredibly frustrating and a little bit insulting. Some of them are people who then complain that nobody talks to them, nobody plays with them — but they never seem to make the effort to reach out to anyone.

As far as hate goes, when I think of hate I think of messages calling people ugly, telling them to kill themselves, claiming they are horrible roleplayers or horrible people. I admit the first version of the note, which you got, was about fifty times more awkward and badly phrased than the revised version — but the variety of responses I’ve gotten indicates that your personal aversion to the way I put things is unusual.

It concerns me that your ip address matches that of someone I considered a friend — but the sort of friend where I was doing all the work of reaching out.

Even though you won’t believe me, I’m compelled to point out that I certainly never intended to offend anyone this deeply with my note — but the sort of person who is offended by it is probably not the sort of person I would have wanted to play with anyway. Ultimately, that sort of person would have been offended by me anyway, precipitating exactly the sort of thing I’m trying to avoid here.
