“Well ya see when I said just got out, more along the lines of just escaped cause I was over that. The trouble, well I didn’t really care that it was frowned upon to assassinate monks…In my defense I got paid ALOT.”

Summer put her face in her hands. “Oh, Marie.” She laughed. “INTERPOL is gonna come looking for you.”

“Your point?” she asked with a face that says she really didn’t care. “I have been going on a vision quest kinda thing.”

“Wherein you got paid to assassinate monks. I see. I’m not sure I can run the risk of helping over that.”

“Are you sure? Do you want to take the risk of knowing what has been enslaved in the darkness for so long? Only with no regret can I come back.”

“It — it doesn’t matter.” She can’t identify /anything/ about the voice. Nothing at all except an obscure sort of pain, that this person should think that they’ve gone so far they can’t come back. Her own voice strengthens. “You won’t hurt me.”

A pool of darkness slowly began to form in front of Summer, and a figure emerged covered in a black slime that started to melt away, revealing familiar blood red hair, and the so familiar brown right eye and bright green left eye.

“Hi Summer.”

Summer shrieked and flung herself at the figure, laughing and sobbing. “Marie, oh Marie, Marie.” She hugged the other girl, face buried in her shoulder, all but squeezing the breath out of her.

Marie blinked before laughing softly and softly petting the top of her older sister’s hair, “Well if I didn’t know any better I would say I was missed.”

“You — you —” Summer spluttered, drawing back to hit Marie gently with a fist, “You little /shit/! You just, you just disappeared. Oh my god, you just fucking disappeared and I didn’t even know where to start to look, anything.” She held Marie off by the shoulders, looking her over, then shook her. “Don’t you ever do that to me again!”

“Yea well I have always had a habit of disappearing, sorry love.”

With a smile she pulled Summer close and hugged her. ”Don’t worry I don’t have to go back any time soon, this is kinda a vacation of sorts.”

“Ba—back?! Back where?” Summer clung to Marie. “No. You’re staying here. I move out of the apartment a year ago but we’ll find you something.”

“Are you sure? Do you want to take the risk of knowing what has been enslaved in the darkness for so long? Only with no regret can I come back.”
