“Alright, I guess.” He hummed, shrugging his shoulders. “The usual Camelot drama. Nothing I can’t handle, though. And you?”

“That would be beyond spectacular!” The redhead actually jumped with glee, and hugged Merlin again, this time adding a kiss as well. “I knew you would be the person to help me.”

He chuckled, slightly leaning into the kiss before he glanced down. “I can’t promise anything.. But I’ll try, I swear.”

“In the meantime,” Summer pretended to be a little bashful, and looked down, twisting a toe into the dirt, “What should I do?”

“I’m /so/ completely bored. I’m not allowed to work out with the knights, lest the King see, and I hardly know anyone else.”

“That’s rubbish,” the warlock grumbled, slowly letting the girl go and crossing his arms over his chest. But then he smiled as an idea seemed to form in his mind. “… Well, I’m the King’s manservant… I think I can pull a few strings.. If you want.”

Summer Rainault shaded her eyes, glancing up at the sun. She was nearly to Camelot; in fact, she could see the castle’s towers rising in the distance. The heat was oppressive, and she nudged her mare to greater speed, hoping to at least generate a cooling breeze.

Absorbed in her thoughts, she didn’t pay much attention to the sounds around her until the several roughly dressed men had surrounded her. “Well hey, what’s this?” one of them growled, brandishing a knife at her. “Pretty girl, all alone, not a good thing.” Another one chuckled, a cruel sound.

“All your money, and quickly,” the one with the knife said, beckoning.

Summer twisted her mouth sideways. “Do I look to have money on me, you fool?”
