“He is a strong brave kitty who …. doesn’t have any bits, so sex means nothing to him,” she grinned. “And if you ask nicely he might show you.” Reaching over, she poked his belly. “I should think you had better eat a lot of meat, all that werewolf energy has to come from somewhere. We’ll have a fruit picnic — maybe fondue? There’s a fondue set at the cabin.”

“…This conversation is quickly becoming quite disturbing.” Isaac chuckled and he squirmed as her fingers ghosted across his ribs, biting down on his lips so that he didn’t dissolve into hysterical laughter. “Yeah? That sounds amazing – maybe we could have toasted marshmallows in front of the fireplace? There is a fireplace, right?”

“There’s a fire pit outside on the beach. The cabin has a tiny private bit of beach.” She shushed him when they pulled up at the fast food drive through, just asking him what he wanted. After they got their food, she handed him the bags. “Can you just hold mine until I get out on the highway? I don’t want to be distracted while we’re still in town.”

“We could stop anywhere and you want to get fruit for lunch.” Summer put her hand over her face. “Okay, but I’m getting a hamburger.” Helios made a funny chirping meow, and she grinned. “I think he just told you he wasn’t innocent. Besides, you were fine with him being under the bed that first time … ” She stuck her tongue out at him and maneuvered through the traffic to the fast food place nearest to the highway.

“…I might have a hamburger too. I’m supposed to eat a lot of meats and proteins and stuff…” He sighed and thought longingly of strawberries, before shaking his head in defeat. Grimacing, he doubled over with laughter and eyed the cat warily. “And he’s not scarred for life how?”

“He came out and found you, didn’t he? He doesn’t like to be left alone. He’ll be completely content to just stay in the cabin and help us shower.” Summer buckled up and headed out. “What do you want to eat?”

“I might not be comfortable with your cat watching us do things, just so that you know. He’s far too young and innocent to witness that sort of stuff,” he teased her mercilessly and settled back against his seat, humming thoughtfully. “Fruit?”

“You want me to want to lick you,” she retorted, and pointed to the door. “March, mister.” He went, and she stalked behind him. “Right down to the car. We are going to the beach.”

“Get out of here already!” Derek shouted behind her, and she turned to catch sight of what appeared to be an actual smile on his face. Amazing. She grinned back, and then had to jerk on the door three times to get it to move. She wouldn’t let Isaac help her, and chivied him down the stairs.

Helios meowed from his carry-case, wedged between the two seatbacks, and she put a finger in to scritch him while Isaac put his bag in the trunk. “Finally ready now?”

“You say that like it’s a bad thing,” he quipped with a crooked smile, his laughter filling the loft as he led her out, oblivious to Derek’s searching look at the small smile on his face at the sight and sound of Isaac’s happiness.

Grabbing at her hand and swinging it to and fro, he laughed aloud and threw his bag in the trunk, before dropping down into a crouch to say hello to Helios. “I didn’t know that cats liked the sea-side?” he offered up with a grin, before saluting once more and clambering into the passenger seat.

“He came out and found you, didn’t he? He doesn’t like to be left alone. He’ll be completely content to just stay in the cabin and help us shower.” Summer buckled up and headed out. “What do you want to eat?”

“Me?” she exclaimed, taking his hands and pulling herself up. “I am not the one who was wearing a /towel/ when I got here, mister ‘look at my gorgeous self don’t you want to lick it’. I am not the one who put on clothes that can be ripped off in a hurry.” She tossed her head, braid bouncing. “You pick up that bag, sir, right now.”

“Because I couldn’t find my – wait, what?” He blinked and then eyed her shyly, tilting his head to the side as his cheeks coloured scarlet. “You wanted to lick me?” He reiterated with a smile, before playfully tugging on her braid, saluting, and then picking up the bag. “Anything else, your majesty?”

“You want me to want to lick you,” she retorted, and pointed to the door. “March, mister.” He went, and she stalked behind him. “Right down to the car. We are going to the beach.”

“You did.” She pushed back, picking his hand out of her hair. “Do you want to go to the beach, or don’t you? We’ll be all alone, far away from prying eyes or noses, doing anything we want … ” Her voice dropped lower, suggestively, implying the natural result of all their touching and teasing. “Can’t do that here … “

He whimpered and shifted from when he was kneeling, relieved that his shorts were quite loose on his slim hips. Nodding and licking at his lips, he jumped to his feet and held out his hands, screwing his eyes shut when they flashed golden. “You’re such a tease…”

Summer spluttered, giggling into the kiss. “You are /not/! You did that all entirely on purpose.” She shoved at one shoulder. “You like it when I watch you. Don’t think I haven’t noticed the way you show off.” Her voice was scolding, slightly, but such a wide smile wreathed her face it was clear she was by no means complaining. “Get your stuff, you — you wolf. Behave.”

“I did not.” He batted his eyelashes angelically and laughed aloud, peppering kisses across her face as he reached up to tangle his fingers in her hair. It was clear that he wasn’t at all bothered at her wrath, and he simply cast her a crooked smile and pressed their foreheads together. “Calling me a wolf isn’t exactly an insult, you know.”

She closed her mouth sharply when it finally occurred to her that she’d just been staring with it hanging open for several seconds. She cleared her throat before she could speak. “You — you should probably button that up? And — before — otherwise we might not make it to the beach?” Her face felt hot, and other bits of her felt tight, or possibly swollen. She was glad she’d gone to the clinic for those birth control patches, because if he did that again they were going to need them.

Blushing and seeming to not know how to react to the expression on her face, his eyes widened comically and his jaw dropped. “Really?” He eyed her dubiously, but nevertheless buttoned up his shirt, before he moved forward to drop to his knees in front of her, cupping her face to kiss her tenderly on the lips. “Sorry?”

Summer perched on the bed, hands bracing herself, and gave him big eyes, like she was excited for a show. “Yes, you should definitely get dressed.” It was quite clear she intended to watch him, and possibly revel in him, and not be of any assistance whatsoever.

Blush darkening as he eyed her shyly, Isaac did what made sense to him in that moment – he whipped the towel off and cast it aside in a bunched up heap, before slowly shimmying into the swim trunks. Tugging on a shirt then, he left it unbuttoned and then turned to face her, seeking approval. “How do I look?”

She couldn’t kiss him back properly for laughing, sitting back on her heels. “Running a little late?” She pulled at the edge of the towel, eyebrows lifting. In a smooth motion, she rocked to her feet. “Come on, sleepyhead. Or don’t you want to see me in a swimsuit?”

All they had to do was hold on for a few hours, and then they would be alone with nothing and no one to interrupt them for days. She reminded herself of that, and folded her arms to keep from yanking the towel right off him.

“Just a little bit – you woke me up!” he teased her with a crooked smile and blushed at the teasing tug, letting out a slight whimper at the following words to escape her lips. “I can’t wait, actually.”

Laughing then, he twisted away from her and checked a few more drawers, whooping victoriously then as he finally found his trunks stuffed behind a pair of jeans. “Aha! Now I’m ready to go! After I get dressed, of course.”
