“Yes!” Summer’s response was enthusiastic. She leaned forward, looking over his shoulder. “What do you do when it rains, then, Captain? Use your shield as an umbrella?” She laughed.
Steve smirked a little bit, beginning to drive off. “When it rains? I usually just have my jacket on….it doesn’t bother me that much.” He laughed a little at the idea of using his shield as an umbrella. “Well…I’ve done that before, but I don’t usually do that.”
“You are a true New Yorker, man.” She shivered dramatically. “I’d never be able to ride a bike in northern rain, I’d just freeze. Left up here, please.” She had to follow his lead into the turn; it felt strange. But the thrill was still there, and her laughter bubbled up again. “This is brilliant.”
