The corporate giant, Monsanto, has pretty much purchased and bribed its way into every grocery product on the shelf, resulting in food becoming less and less like, well, food. There are reasons Cancer rates are getting worse.
Likewise, Monsanto is making sure small American farmers are ran out of business. Also, their constant pesticide use is killing bees and other insects, causing dire environmental issues.
The mass media is more concerned with pop culture and trends, than the real issues the world is facing.
Human population is ever growing, and at rapid rates. It can’t just continue this way.
We have put so much trash in giant landfills all over our world and in our oceans. We are killing our planet.
By planet you mean we are killing ourselves.
Can we also pay attention to the fact that there aren’t just political problems going on???
I mean, seriously, I have been trying to tell everyone, BUT NO ONE IS EVEN REBLOGGING THE ARTICLES THAT COULD SAVE A LIFE
While all this is happening, the Pacific Ocean is being contaminated by not just trash, but Radiation.
There was a leak in the Fukushima power plant that has now poisoned the entire Pacific Ocean.
Some think that oh, maybe it will go away with time. Sure, it will, in about 16 million years. Yes, you read that right. Due to the long half life of iodine-129, the whole ecosystem of the Pacific Coast will be contaminated pretty much forever.
Here is the radiation levels in the ocean.
Everyone needs to wake up.
The government needs to be set straight. They were hiding this information so that people don’t panic. Well, now everyone’s gonna die and not know why.
Shit is going down, and we need to make sure EVERYONE knows EVERYTHING that is happening in this place we call home.

Yes, let’s make sure that a whole lot of information that is likely to completely overwhelm a lot of people gets spread to a lot of teenagers and young adults with a fairly obvious history of depression, self-hatred, frustration, and instability, who are frequently unable to get themselves out of the holes their lives have become, so they can castigate themselves even more because they now know about these things they can do nothing about.
And if you can parse that sentence, you can rip me a new one. Meanwhile, shut UP.
What? Sexual Sunday, already?
“Well, my clothes aren’t going to stay on for much longer, I can tell you that.”
“You want some help with that?”
Two flames danced, and Summer couldn’t help smiling. “You hear me. You forgive me?” What was it she’d done differently this time, from all the other times? She’d claimed Loki as her patron god for years and never had any kind of response before.
“Won’t you show yourself?” She racked her brain, trying to think what she had that might entice a god known to be a bit fickle. “I have … ” There was that bottle of whiskey she’d bought to give to her twin. She could always get another one. “I have a bottle of white label Dickel whiskey for you,” she coaxed.
Whoever this stranger was, he didn’t know her. It was easy for him to know when another was devoting their time to him, especially nowadays when he had no one really worshipping him. And yet she spoke to him like he was an old friend of sorts. Difficult to be one’s patron when he never gave permission for it, much less never knew about her. Gods chose whom they were the patron of, individuals weren’t supposed to choose one themselves. Then again, perhaps she was just a new Lokean.
Showing himself, though, was completely out of the option. This one was a stranger to him and, again, he only showed himself in dreams or when the individual astral traveled. Never did he appear to one in the real verse in his true form. There was also the fact that he was four weeks clean and couldn’t drink. The offering was nice and he willingly accepted it, but nothing more. Abruptly, the candles stopped moving, his own silent way of saying no.
The candleflames stilled, and Summer slumped. “I guess that means no.” Well, at least she didn’t have to buy another bottle of whiskey, but it was still disappointing. The whole thing was like the first time she’d made a spell that actually worked — a lot of excitement and surprise over something small and mysterious. Now that she couldn’t get any further response, it felt like a letdown, despite the sheer miraculousness of the whole thing.
Her mouth twisted in a self-deprecating smile. “Well, thank you,” she said, softly. “I don’t know how I deserved your attention suddenly, but I’m glad of it. So thank you.” Quick brushes of her fingers put out the candles, hands lingering over the north candle. She wanted to say thank you again, but somehow the words just didn’t seem enough.
For the first time in a long time, she couldn’t sleep easily that night. The events of her little ceremony kept buzzing around in her head long after she would normally have been asleep. Finally, finally, she slid over the edge into dreamland, images of Loki floating through her imagination.
Assassin’s Tango
He chuckled a bit as she stole a kiss from him and watched with fascination as she put her armor back on. Victor smiled as she perched on the bed and put his paper down. He stretched as he stood then made his way over to his uniform. He pulled his pants on first and then slipped into his boots. His long sleeved top came next before he wrapped his utility belt around his waist. Victor examined each and every one of his weapons before placing them in their respective places on his belt. “Wha’s your armor made of?” he asked while he strapped his knife to his calf and holstered his handgun.
“Battle steel over kevlar, threaded with copper. Why? I already told you it’s bulletproof and fireproof and a host of other things.” Summer folded her arms, tapping her fingers against the chestpiece. A smile dimpled her cheeks. “It won’t fit you, if that’s what you’re thinking, and even if it would I don’t recommend it. You wouldn’t like the results.”
“I was jus’ curious is all love. I mean, I’ve never really seen you in this sort o’ light y’know? No doubt in m’ mind though tha’ your armor will protect you, it is your job I ‘spose.” Victor held her gaze with a small smile. “Being a vampire helps a lot in my job, especially because I absobloodylutely hated wearing even a kevlar vest.”
“If you think the armour is impressive, wait until it actually comes down to combat. Speaking of which, it’s really time to go.” Summer slid off the bed and stretched, shaking her shoulders to get everything settled. One hand checked her hair while she walked over to the door. “Keys, room key, phone, ids — I’m ready.”`
“I know you didn’t, but I did.” Considering it was the best word he could think of, and he was trying to lighten the mood. “You’d have to be training for quite some time not to fall on your ass when falling off a bike. Makes you feel any better, I don’t fall correctly all the time.” What he didn’t mention was it wasn’t often. “Do I need to mention the injured ankle I got filming?” Course, right as he finished speaking, a laugh escaped him at Summer’s antics. Hey, she was only playing along with what he started.
“Would have been different if I’d fallen on my ass,” she muttered, looking at her hands again. She lifted her leg, flexing the knee, and winced slightly. “Well, I think I can keep going but maybe we better not ride all over after all. I’m sorry.” Gingerly, she put her hands down to push herself up. “Was there anything you wanted to do?”
After all the trouble he had gone through to get the bike. It really wasn’t any trouble, but this could have gone over differently. “… If I’m honest with you, I really didn’t give all this much thought. What with my mind on other things. So, I don’t really have any backup ideas.” That just sounded really sad. Maybe there was something he could think of on the draw. Sadly, nothing was really coming to him. “I don’t know if you had any other ideas, but it looks like I’m out.”
“I’m really sorry.” Summer hung her head, fumbling at the handlebars of her bike to right it. Thoughtlessly, she wiped her hands on her skirt, then cursed. “Dammit. I just really suck today.” She blinked, and a tear rolled down her face. She swiped at it impatiently. “Maybe I better just … look, you want to just come over to my place and watch a movie?”
Hey, it could be worse. “I guess that’s something we could do. Even after I went through the trouble of actually getting a bike…” Not that it really bothered him. Worse things could have happened than that. Robert ran a hand through his hair, debating whether he should bring the bike back now or not. He could use it to get to her place, couldn’t he? Eh, he’d have to wait and see.
“No, it’s okay, you should ride it to my place.” Summer brushed her fingertips over the heel of one hand, dislodging some grit and wincing. “Does the fact that I have cats to adore you make up for my stupidity?” Once again she swung her leg over the bike, balancing on one foot while she waited for Robert to mount up.
I’ve been alright. I’ve missed you though.Maybe you should come round more often, then. I’ve been a bit busy lately, moving.
Moving? Where to?
Tony asked me to move in with him.
I’ve been alright. I’ve missed you though.
