She skimmed a wave at him with the flat of her arm. “Oh, but I can request that you punish me.” With the flash of a grin, she added, “But I like your idea better,” and dropped under the water, aiming for his legs. Both hands wrapped around one leg, and she pulled.

He realized what she was planning just in time to take two hasty steps back, but not quickly enough to actually flee to safety.  He made a startled, less than dignified noise as he was pulled off balance, which turned into a stream of bubbles once his head was underwater.

He stared at her underwater for a few seconds, before he popped back up to the surface.  He resembled a drowned rat for a moment, hair plastered to his face, but then he slicked it back and merely looked like a rather soggy, rather miffed Tony Stark.  ”Can you please not do that?” he asked, tone a bit distant.

The second she tasted the fear, she let go. Tony Stark was afraid? How did that even work? They looked at each other through the wavering water, and Summer started cursing herself. Fear, pain, anguish … every time, those emotions set off the bond early.

There had to be a way to stop that from happening. Gritting her teeth and surfacing, Summer blinked at him for a long moment. “That was a hell of a lot of fear,” she commented finally. “I didn’t think you were afraid of anything.” She tried to slow down her breathing, tried to get used to the faint sense of Stark in the back of her mind.

Rubbing at the back of her neck, she swore again under her breath and started slogging toward the side.

Stripping her shirt up her body and off over her head, Summer grinned. “I just need the water to hold me up and I’m fine.” She shucked her shorts as quickly, leaving it all in a pile on the decking, and knelt to sweep a hand through the water.

Cool, but not cold. Kneel turned into shallow dive, flinging herself through the first foot or so of water with careless ease, before she resurfaced facefirst, long hair swirling around her shoulders. “I guess you’ll just have to punish my audacity, then.”

Tony toed off his shoes and stripped off his shirt, tossing it onto a nearby chair, and sat down on the edge of the pool.  ”Really?  I thought we decided you were in charge.”  He slid into the water, dunked his hands under the surface, and used them to push his hair back and out of the way.  ”In which case, logically, you should probably be punishing me for being a smartass.  Just can’t make up your mind, can you?”

She skimmed a wave at him with the flat of her arm. “Oh, but I can request that you punish me.” With the flash of a grin, she added, “But I like your idea better,” and dropped under the water, aiming for his legs. Both hands wrapped around one leg, and she pulled.

A Cold Summer

“Hey Summer I’m home!” Marie yelled as she walked into the house she shared with summer. Casually throwing her new rifle on the counter, bending over to take off her shoes,”Summer? You home?”She yelled again as she didn’t receive a response,”Must be out and about.”She thought as she emptied her pockets of her keys, cigarettes and phone. Setting the contents on the counter as well she walked up the stair to the shower, not hearing her phone go off.

Half an hour later, Marie emerged from the bathroom, her blood red hair still wet. She looked around the living room and frowned,”Where the hell is she, did she go on vacation again and not tell me?”She muttered as she walked to the counter to get her phone and call Summer. Opening it, she tilted her head seeing she had a new message from an unknown number,”The hell?”She mumbled as she opened the message,

‘You are receiving this message due to recent interactions with the freelance superheroine known as Naienko, aka Summer Rainault. This individual has gone missing. You are hereby requested to join in the search for her.’

Marie’s eyes narrowed as she growled at her phone, setting it down to keep her from smashing it. Her friend, her sister was missing and she had no clue. It felt as though her heart was breaking along with the marble of the counter as she punched it, her pain and anger shattering the stone and bringing blood from her hand.

Without another thought, she turned to run up the stairs to her room, changing into her black pants and halfshirt, before opening her closest and pushing back the clothes. Popping off a wooden panel she put in to hide her guns, so she wouldn’t upset Summer. Grabbing her knives and two black pistols she closed the door to her closet and quickly put on her boots and grabbed her phone, keys, rifle and cigarettes and opened the front door,”Where are you Summer?”She thought before closing the door.
