She had to laugh. “We’ll get back to the issue of flight later, I think. I wouldn’t even try to match you drink for drink, Mr Stark.” Summer sauntered over to him, putting a little extra sway in her step under the long circle skirt she wore. She looked up, enjoying the near-foot of height difference. “How would you like to begin?”

“So I owe you one for a race, challenge, whatever you want to call it. We’ll have to set the stakes though…keep it interesting. And that’s a shame, because I know I’d win…but you might’ve ended up with alcohol poisoning if you were insane enough to take me up on that offer. That just leaves sex, and that might be my favorite of the three.” Tony’s eyes followed her hips, almost mesmerized by her stride as she approached him. Biting his bottom lip, he slipped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer. “Why don’t we just see where this takes up?”

“Hmmm, I like that idea. A race, in the morning when you’ve worn me out? Or perhaps it’ll be the reverse, as you struggle to manage your suit after a night without sleep?” Summer let the laugh run low in her throat, sliding her hand up the arm wrapped around her. Her voice dropped to a murmur as she added, “Or we can skip flight entire and stick with sex. If you’re good enough.”

“Sleep is for the weak—I could stay up all night and still beat your ass. Whether or not you would be able to compete is up for debate though.” He quirked an eyebrow at her gutsy statement of if he was ‘good enough.’ “I think I’ll have to prove my worth here, just to keep my reputation intact.” He tilted his head, staring down at her with a bemused smirk, just inches from her face.

“Oh, a lady doesn’t kiss and tell, Mr Stark. Have no fear for your reputation.” Her eyes darkened under the wash of his emotions. “If you’re proving your worth, shall I be submissive, then? Beg for your attentions? Or do your prefer a girl who knows her own mind?” This time she scratched her nails back down his arm over the fabric of his shirt.

“Drinking I’ll grant you, but not flight.” Summer traded him smirk for smirk. “After all, your little battery is gone. As for sex … try me.”

“If I drink you under the table, I can’t destroy your standards. Besides, I could wire together a spare and still blow you away. But…I will accept your challenge.”

“You might to sit down for this one, I’m not sure you won’t melt into a puddle if I keep going,” Tony admitted with a smirk. “I do have half a mind to just push you against that wall though….”

Summer had to laugh at his arrogance. “You could not be more arrogant if you tried, could you? Well.” Smirking back at him, full of confidence, she went on, “Please, please, Mr Stark, have your wicked way with me.”

He actually stopped dead in his tracks and laughed at her. “Oh, if you think this is arrogant…This is only the previews, sweetheart,” the engineer stated with a smug grin. “Either way….the show’s about to begin,” he murmured as he stepped closer to her.

“I’m just ecstatic.” Summer lowered her head, then peeked through her eyelashes. “What should I anticipate?”

“I don’t think you should anticipate all that much, Summer. I’m not that easy.” He laughed harshly and stepped back, as he battled with the equations in his mind. Return to the lab and accomplish something, finish projects….or give in to temptation. Decisions Decisions, he thought to himself.

The flirtatious expression slid away, replaced by acknowledgement, bitterness. Her laugh nearly matched his, though there was no trace of amusement on her face. “And thus my thesis is proven.” She had to pause and clear her throat.

Summer rolled her eyes hard, disentangling her arms from his neck. “Why does everyone assume I’m going to go rummage in their head? I can’t help but hear what you broadcast, hon. I’m not interested in changing it.” She ran a hand through her hair, resettling it, then cocked an eyebrow at him. “Letting you share what I’m feeling … oh, say, by way of desire? Passion? That intrigue you any?”

“It’s a thing. I’d imagine that having to hear all that shit gets rather annoying. And to be honest, I don’t even like half of what’s going on in my head, so having to listen to it must be worse. But…desire and passion are feelings that I can get behind. Or in front of. Whichever, really.”

He let go of her and brushed a stray piece of hair out of her face, suggestively smiling. “Sorry if I killed the mood there.”

She shrugged. “Don’t fool yourself; what I get off you is no more or less bad than what goes on in my own head. We all like to think we walk in our own personal darkness, unrivalled by anyone else.” Summer blinked, smiling with a tinge of bitterness. “Never mind.”

Cocking an eyebrow again, she added, “I’m sure someone as … experienced as you can bring the mood back, if you’re so inclined.”

“You might to sit down for this one, I’m not sure you won’t melt into a puddle if I keep going,” Tony admitted with a smirk. “I do have half a mind to just push you against that wall though….”
