Don’t call me “kid” either. Thank you. theironaudi. Leave Tony and Tonymun alone, in every way possible. Don’t refer to them, don’t talk to them, don’t even think about them. Got it?

And here is where I tell you to go fuck yourself. If I want to worry about someone, if I miss someone, if I’m concerned about someone — it is no fucking concern of yours. Neither you nor anyone else has any option to tell me how to feel or what to do with it.

Audimun is a person who is a friend. Regardless of if she feels the same to me, I consider her a friend, and I think of her, I miss her, I wish her well.

Allow me to repeat myself, /child/, since you’ve been struggling all along.

Go fuck yourself.

Sometimes, when I’m lying in bed trying to sleep, I think about you. I wonder how you’re doing. If you think of me at all. Why you shut me away. (I’m selfish, I have those thoughts.)

I think of you. And I miss you. The way you made me smile. The way you write. The little things you shared about your life. We don’t say much about our lives often here, amongst the roleplay. Not obviously, anyway. But things slip through, and I know life is no easier for you than it is for me,

You made my life a little easier, and I miss that. (I’m selfish that way.)

I never got to say goodbye; you just disappeared. It’s a hole in my heart. I made a little space for you, and you aren’t there anymore. So I miss you.

Just leaving behind the clamour of the crowd at the mall helped; Summer felt the taste of it slide out of her mind like waves receding from the shore. It didn’t change the aftershocks of channelling the Hulk, but at least it stopped it from getting worse. Her breathing easing, she told Tony, “You got me out of there. That’s all I needed.” She flexed her fingers against yet another spasm, trying to force her body to relax. “Now all I can do is wait, and try not to think about it.”

Looking around the room, she added, “This is where you live? It’s really nice.”

Tony could see that she’d relaxed, at least a little, and breathed a sigh of relief. He ran a hand roughly through his hair, looking her over for signs of discomfort. Tony decided he’d talk about something else to get her mind off recent events.

“Yeah, this is it. Well, on this coast, at least.” He grinned. “I like it,” he said, looking around the room with a content look on his face. “I’m glad you do too…”

“Of /course/ you have multiple houses.” Summer nearly facepalmed. “Tony, I swear you have too much money for your own good.” Pushing herself up to lean on the arm of the couch, she looked around more, taking in little details. The wide expanse of windows. The isolated and apparently empty desk. Abandoned books and games — it was not a sterile space, despite its size. She slid one foot off the couch to rub it in the rug.

“I can’t believe you live alone up here.”

She concentrated on trying to control her muscles, but it didn’t really help. “‘m sorry,” she murmured, clinging to the suit. “Didn’t want you to know about this.” Where would be free of the hum of other hearts? Up high was always a safe bet. “Tower,” Summer told Tony, before more muscles clenched, and she clamped her teeth together. “Yours.”

Tony got them to the balcony of the tower and got her inside, setting her on the couch in the den area so he could get out of the suit. “Don’t apologize,” he said through the noise of the suit shedding itself. “You really helped us out. Now… I take it this has happened before?” He asked, kneeling next to the sofa. “What can I do to help?”

“There’s a lot — aaaghh — a lot of pain,” she whispered. A muscle in her arm clenched, and her hands trembled. “But I’ll be oka—” A spasm in her back cut off that sentence and pulled her out of her fetal curl. “Take me away from here. Too much input. Please,” she whispered.

Tony hesitated a moment, not wanting to cause her any further pain, but moved to pick her up all the same. “Hold on, I’ll get us somewhere quiet, all right?” He held her as gently as he could manage while still holding her safely, and took off, leaving the other Avengers to deal with Banner. “Where?” he asked. The city was a big place, and very few areas could be considered quiet by anyone’s standards.

It hurt, opening up like that. The Hulk’s anger was raw, sharp edges and hooks, as destructive as the being it powered, but Summer had faced her own rages and she gritted her teeth and held on. One minute … two … the deluge of anger abruptly ended and she staggered back, the fire wavering, then vanishing.

Summer went to her knees, hard, then crumpled over to her side. With the last vestiges of energy, she jerked her shields back up. “Did I stop him?” she tried to say to anyone nearby.

By the time Tony got there, Bruce was shrinking down to his normal size and regaining his normal complexion, so he wasn’t worried about him. But Summer… Tony dropped to a knee beside her.

“He’s Bruce again,” Tony said gently, looking her over for any physical harm done. “You… You all right?”

Tony scanned his eyes over some of the upturned cars and saw the flame dancing to mark the right vehicle. “I don’t have any extra comm sets on me… Look, I’ll get the civillian out of the car if you can do that,” he said, already turning toward the car. He landed in front of it, seeing a young man still seatbelted in and hyperventilating a little.

“Hey, hold tight, all right?” Tony said, glad his faceplate was up—his natural voice was always better in situations like this. Less alien, more soothing than a robotic one.

Time to split the attention again. Summer let the wings drop; there was no need for them anymore, and they’d only draw attention she might not want right now. Unconsciously, one hand went to rub at her temple, and her eyes fell out of focus while she reached out to the pile of rage that was the Hulk.

Anger, where was the edge of the anger? What else was threading through it? Guilt. Grief. Too common, too common, there was — “I don’t have enough data!” she spit under her breath. Landing next to Rogers and Romanov, she said without preamble, “I’m going to try something stupid.”

Linking her fingers together, Summer pointed her palms at the sky, hooked on to the Hulk’s anger, and pulled. A column of flame exploded from her palms with a sharp snap, arrowing straight up into the sky.

Tony tried the door handle, but it was stuck, so he had to rip the door completely off. Carefully, he reached in to pick the guy out of the car. He picked him up and flew him over past the police barricades. That was when he saw a giant pillar of flame shooting up into the air.

Fire? Fire! Summer!
